Shane Jimerson is a professor at the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in the field of school psychology and inclusive education.

Shane Jimerson's expertise is internationally recognised in the areas of school failure, school violence prevention, bullying, and crisis management, particularly when weapons are used in schools. For more than two decades, Jimerson has worked to better connect research and practice to create safe, supportive, and effective school environments that benefit children.

A prolific author, he has been ranked in the top 15 most prolific and cited authors in the field of school psychology (Lin & Oakland, 2016). He has contributed to over 400 scholarly articles and over 30 books. He has co-edited several Handbooks, reflecting his ability to join the most respected experts to provide the research and practitioner community with the state-of-the-art on major issues, including school bullying, and more recently, how to implement multi-systemic prevention and intervention plans to support students' cognitive, socio-emotional, and behavioural development (Handbook of Response to Intervention - the Science and Practice of Multi-Tired Systems of Support, Springer). He has also contributed to the development of a prevention and intervention curriculum for managing crisis situations in schools.

Shane Jimerson is also active on numerous committees and boards in the field of school psychology in the United States. He has served as President of the International School Psychology Association.

Curious about international developments in the field, he has also established collaborations and given courses and conferences in more than 25 countries around the world.

He has received numerous awards of excellence for his contributions to the advancement of knowledge and best practices in the field of school psychology.
