Four young scientists from ULiège, winners of a BAEF grant for a research stay in the United States

Margaux Geuzaine, Alisée Devillers, Auriane Maréchal and Romain Morodo, all four young researchers at the University of Liège, are about to experience an exceptional year of research in prestigious American laboratories. They are indeed the winners of a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship awarded by the Belgian American Educational Foundation.

Margaux Geuzaine

researcher in Structural and Stochastic Dynamics in the research unit  Urban and Environmental Engineering (School of Engineering ) at ULiège, will pursue her postdoctoral studies at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA) next year thanks to a scholarship BAEF (Belgian American Educational Foundation). Her project consists in developing physics-based machine learning to monitor structures exposed to natural hazards.

Alisée Devillers

researcher in Art History at Department of Ancient Sciences  (Faculty of Philosophy and Letters) of the ULiège has been awarded a scholarship BAEF (Belgian American Education Foundation) to carry out a one-year research stay at theUniversity of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Her research focuses on the appropriation of the visual culture of the elite by the Theban subelite at the turn of the 18th and 19th dynasties in ancient Egypt.

Auriane Maréchal

researcher in the research unit Cité (Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology) at ULiège, will pursue her postdoctoral studies atUniversity of California - Berkeley next year thanks to a scholarship BAEF (Belgian American Educational Foundation). His research focuses on the development of solutions to major environmental issues.

Romain Morodo

he researcher at the Center for Integrated Technology and Organic Synthesis (Research Unit MolSys / Faculty of Science) of the ULiège has been awarded a grant BAEF (Belgian American Education Foundation) to carry out a one-year research stay at Stanford University (California). His research at the interface of organic chemistry and chemical engineering consists in using new technologies and catalytic methods for the development of new biomaterials.
