Every day of each year, a member of the ULiège community sees their work and skills recognised in Belgium and throughout the world.

he Prix Francqui (the highest Belgian scientific distinction) awarded to Dr.Steven Laureys in 2017, the discovery of the exoplanetary system Trappist-1 by the team of astronomers Michaël Gillon and Emmanuël Jehin on the cover of the journal Nature, the athletic performances of Nafissatou Thiam, Olympic gold medalist (Rio) and world champion (London) in heptathlon, but also a student in Geography at ULiège...

These awards and honours recognise the talents of individual paths. But they also result from a culture of quality developed by ULiège in the many areas of its teaching, research and community service activities.

The labels and accreditations of ULiège attest to its ability to guarantee high and constant quality standards. For the benefit of its students, researchers and staff, and the many professional actors (academic, public, economic, cultural...) with whom it interacts daily.

Thus, the recognition of the members of its community reflects on the University of Liège and, conversely, the institutional culture of quality contributes to the quality of training, research and work of each and everyone.
