Biography

Céline Parotte is currently Associate Professor at Spiral Research Centre, UR Cité in the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology at the University of Liège.

His current research interests include radioactive waste management and monitoring, energy infrastructure, participatory methods, and the analysis and evaluation of controversial public policies. She is in charge of teaching three compulsory courses at ULiège: Qualitative Methods in Political Science and Methodology and Analysis of Public Policies (Bachelor courses), and Politics and Sociotechnical Changes (STS Master Course).

In 2014 and 2015 she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Laval (Canada), in Paris, at the Institute For Research and Innovation in Society (IFRIS/INRA SenS). In 2017, she joined the Harvard Science and Technology Studies Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. In 2018 she was invited to join the Milieu en Samenleving Research Center (University of Antwerp) to work on a Euratom Horizon 2020 project. In 2022, she will join the University of Vienna to study the mundane decay of nuclear infrastructure.

She is currently working on three projects: the nuclear energy future with Small Modular Reactor (NuVanguard Project 2024-2026, ESFR Simple Euratom Project), the mundane decay of nuclear infrastructures (2021-2024 FNRS project and 2022-2023 MUNDEC project) and low carbon and labor transitions (2021-2024 Belspo LAMARTRA project).

In 2018, she published a book in the peer-reviewed STS Collection entitled "L'Art de gouverner les déchets hautement radioactifs", Coll. Science, Technologie, Société, 2, Liège, Belgique: Presses Universitaires de Liège, 2018, 268p.
