Biography
Joffrey is a PhD candidate since 2017 in aerospace engineering at the University of Liège and the University of Louvain (Belgium). He works with the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics and the research center Cenaero (Gosselies) on the characterization of thermal protection systems for future space missions and recently completed a three months¿ research stay at NASA Ames Research Center within the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division. Before that, he pursued in 2016 a one-year post-graduate program in Aerospace and Aeronautics engineering at the von Karman Institute for fluid Dynamics in Brussels and obtained a Master Degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Liege in 2015. His current research area focuses on Uncertainty Quantification and Bayesian statistics for the characterization of thermochemical properties of spacecraft heat shields. He also has strong interests in space exploration, astrophysics, cosmology, artificial intelligence and clean technology.
