Biography

Alice  Sophie Sarcinelli is an Anthropologist and obtained a PhD at Ecoles des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France). Her thesis received the Solemn Price of the Chancellery of Paris 2015 (Prix Solennels de la Chancellerie de Paris - Richelieu Prize).

She founded and coordinated the group ¿Sciences de l¿enfance, enfants des sciences¿ and coordinated the international conference ¿A quelle discipline appartiennent les enfants? Croisements, échanges et reconfigurations de la recherche autour de l¿enfance¿ realized at Ecoles des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France). She is member of the Network ¿Anthropology of Childhood¿ of the European Association of Social Anthropology.

After a research fellowship at the National Found of Scientific Research (Belgium), she is currently post-doctoral  fellow at the Department of Human Sciences for Education of the University of Milan-Bicocca within the Isotis Project (Inclusive Education and Social Support to Tackle Inequalities in Society, http://www.isotis.org/) as part of the team leading a cross-country study on children¿s voice on inclusion. She is also member of the Laboratoire of Social and Cultural Anthropology of  Liège University. Her research interests are anthropology of childhood, parenthood and education. She realized ethnographic researches on children¿s experiences and perspectives in Italy, Belgium  and Brazil, focusing on stigmatised children such as Roma children, street children and children of same-sex couples.
