ULiège, a university in motion, an actor for development.
ULiège expresses its citizenship towards the countries of the South by making development cooperation one of its priorities. This is why the institution was created in 2012, as part of International Relations, a Centre for Partnership and Development Cooperation (PACODEL).
It ensures the coordination and development of multidisciplinary activities related to developing countries, and this, in all areas of academic cooperation: research, teaching and community services.
Based on the expertise and experience developed over several decades by its two founding entities (Aide au Développement de Gembloux (ADG), a development cooperation NGO created in 1986 at the initiative of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, and UniverSud, a non-profit organisation founded in 1978 by a few professors from the University of Liège seeking to promote university expertise in cooperation projects in developing countries, Eclosio was created in 2018.
Eclosio's vision is a world where current and future generations live with dignity and exercise their fundamental rights. To this end, it strengthens initiatives that respect human beings and the environment and contributes to the exercise of the fundamental rights of populations.
