Frédéric Schoenaers has been the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Life at the University of Liège since 1st October 2022. In this capacity, he ensures the coherence and quality of the educational offer with regard to the evolution of society, teaching practices and legislation (reform of the Décret Paysage, RFIE, etc.). Together with the departments concerned, he also develops student support services, particularly in terms of equal opportunities, support for success, and the fight against insecurity.
As part of his duties, Frédéric Schoenaers will also chair the Institutional Human Resources Commission, which is responsible for formulating proposals or issuing opinions at the request of the authorities concerning the various aspects of Human Resources Management within the University.
Frédéric Schoenaers is a sociologist with a doctorate from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris and a professor of sociology of human resources and institutional systems within the ULiège Faculty of Social Sciences. His research interests focus on the analysis of transformations in the public sector (health, police, justice) in a context of managerialisation. He was previously President of the ULiège Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (2014-2015) and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences (2015-2022).
