ulien Nicaise has been a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of Liège since 2025.
He holds degrees in Sociology, Public Management, and Public Policy Evaluation.
He began his career as an assistant at the University of Liège (2002–2004) before joining several successive ministerial offices responsible for Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research (2004–2012).
After serving as Director General of Education Personnel at the Ministry of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (2012–2014), he served successively as the first Administrator of the Academy of Research and Higher Education (2014–2020) and then as the first General Administrator of Wallonia-Brussels Education (2020–2025).
Function
The Director is elected every four years by the Board of Directors.
The Director's powers are defined by the law of April 28, 1953 and by the mission statement updated by the Board of Directors at its meeting of May 20, 2020.
