"I'm getting down to work straight away! In the interests of the University of Liège and its region, applying my method explained during the election campaign: making reasoned decisions, motivated by objectives, and always taking people into account, both those who work at our University and our students."

T

he Rector-elect, Pierre Wolper began working with Rector Albert Corhay on Friday morning, the day after the results were announced, to ensure a smooth transition. His official appointment by the government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation will take place in the next few days. In the meantime, he will be taking part in meetings of the Conseil des Recteurs francophones, ARES and the Pôle académique Liège-Luxembourg, among others, as early as next week.

« During this transition period, as with my first steps as Rector, my priority will be to ensure the smooth running of the University, with of course points of inflexion specific to the more concerted method I wish to promote internally, but without improvised changes. I will quickly give clear messages to all members of the University community, by carefully preparing the dossiers and taking the time to explain them. I also want to quickly simplify certain administrative procedures, so that everyone, whatever their position, is in a position to do their job efficiently and satisfactorily. "

" I would like to thank all those who supported me in this election, and I am delighted by the support of the students, who are the raison d'être of our University. But above all, I want to reassure all categories of staff: my ambition is to move the University of Liège forward by listening to everyone and with a concern for everyone's well-being. »
