The seven partners of the Université de la Grande Région met at the Château de Colonster (ULiege campus) to take stock of current collaborations and outline the future of the consortium.

On 24 May 2019, the University of Liège welcomed a delegation from Danang University in Vietnam, led by its President, Prof. Dr Nguyen Ngoc Vu, accompanied by several Vice-Chancellors.
A coastal city in central Vietnam, Danang has more than one million inhabitants (the country's fourth largest city) and is experiencing strong economic growth. Its port plays an important role in trade in the Pacific. A young university founded in 1994, Danang University aims to be among the top 50 universities in Asia by 2035. She is also a member of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
Rector Pierre WOLPER presented ULiège and existing collaborations with Vietnam through bilateral projects with WBI and internuniversitaries with ARES, and highlighted the existing collaboration, through training modules in transport and logistics, between the School of Engineering of ULiège and Danang University. Contacts have been initiated to broaden the scope of collaborations, particularly towards strengthening the teaching of French.

ULiège and its partners FOREM and IDELUX are inaugurating a sustainable housing technology platform on the Arlon campus to meet the needs of the wood and construction sectors.
Coordinated by the University of Liège, the project aims to continue to position the Greater Region as a European model for the efficient management of technological resources and waste.
