Professor of Resource Chemistry at the University of Liege, Aurore Richel has just been awarded the Wernaers Prize 2021 for the popularization of science for her blog Chem4us. Created at the end of 2019, in order to challenge preconceived ideas about the deleterious aspects of chemistry, the blog regularly offers hyper-documented articles and dossiers on topics related to societal, economic and environmental issues linked to chemistry.
Neurologist and headache specialist, Jean Schoenen has just been awarded one of the 2021 Wernaers Prizes for the popularization of science for his e-book project #MIGRAINE-TOO News and Fake news on an invisible disease. This book, a synthesis of his scientific career of nearly 40 years, aims to inform migraine sufferers in an understandable way of the facts and false rumors about migraines in order to help them manage the disease in the best possible way and with full knowledge of the facts throughout their lives.
Cyrille Prestianni and the researchers of the EDDyLab - accompanied by the Réjouisciences unit - of ULiège have just been awarded a grant from the Wernaers 2021 Fund to develop their project "Un milliard d'années en cuisine" (A billion years in the kitchen), which consists of the publication of a book and the production of video capsules on the theme of geology and paleontology.
