Sexual Harassment and Violence: Training
ULiège is committed to the fight against sexual harassment and violence and has set up various training courses.
Training for Staff (including permanent staff, interns, temps, etc.)
Professional Training "Mieux communiquer” (Communicating Better)
There are many communication tools (face to face, email, SMS, telephone, etc.) and the impact of the messages conveyed is far from trivial. Confusion, misinterpretation, insinuations, are all obstacles to smooth communication. So much energy is saved when what we express is well received! We still need to clarify what message we want the other person to receive and what we want them to do with this information. Moreover, the choice of words to be communicated is decisive.
Listening, understanding, communicating, progressing... Each year, the University of Liège offers its staff, via the Human Resources Intranet page, a range of training courses to broaden their knowledge, acquire new skills or exchange experiences, some of which are related to personal development and interpersonal relations.
In 2020-2021, a specific focus was placed on non-violent communication in the induction programme for ULiège supervisors.
Practical guide "Equality in language"
The University of Liège, in collaboration with the ULiège Gender Working Group, has published a practical guide "Equality in language" and proposes a series of recommendations on this subject to its community.
Videos on the theme of harassment and violence, broadcast to the whole ULiège community, highlight these sensitive issues and provide keys to dealing with them

- Training on psycho-social risks. The notions of group influence, free will and respect within relationships are addressed by Sonia Vella, psychologist specialised in social psychology.
- Solidaris raises awareness on issues of consent and sexual violence in the context of student events
- Training on the responsibilities of organisers and the legal consequences of complaints of physical or psychological harassment by Dr Devos.
