Well-being at work, defined by the law of August 4, 1996 is the set of factors concerning the conditions in which work is carried out, namely :

  1. Work safety
  2. Protection of the worker's health at work
  3. The psycho-social burden caused by work; as well as the prevention of violence in the workplace, and moral or sexual harassment
  4. Ergonomics
  5. Occupational hygiene
  6. Workplace beautification
  7. Environmental measures taken by the company with regard to their influence on points 1 to 6.

The Service Universitaire de Protection et d'Hygiène du travail(Service interne de prévention et de protection au travail de l'Université de Liège), assists the employer, members of the hierarchy and workers in the application of legal and regulatory provisions relating to the well-being of workers during the performance of their work and all other preventive measures and activities.

The Internal Occupational Health and Safety Department is made up of a number of Prevention Advisors, who must satisfy a number of requirements, particularly in terms of training.

The Code on Well-being in the Workplace precisely defines its missions and the tasks required to carry them out. Among other things, he must provide the employer and the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work with an opinion on any project, measure or means which the employer plans to implement and which directly or indirectly, immediately or in the long term, may have consequences for the well-being of workers.

Each year, it must also draw up a report on its activities (= annual report of the Service Interne pour la Prévention et la Protection au travail) and forward it to the Contrôle du Bien-être au Travail Direction de Liège (SPF Emploi, Travail et Concertation sociale).
