Biography

Jean-François Kaux obtained his medical degree in 2005, his complementary master's degree in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in 2010 and his doctorate in 2014. Since 2016, he has been head of the Department of Physical Medicine, Functional Rehabilitation and Sports Traumatology at the University Hospital of Liège and is a lecturer at the University of Liège where he gives lectures to students in medicine, physiotherapy and motor sciences.

He coordinates the Department of Sports Medicine and Traumatology (SportS2), recognised as a FIMS (International Federation of Sports Medicine) Collaborative Center, FIFA (Fédération International de Football Association) Medical Centre of Excellence and IOC (International Olympic Committee) Research Centre for Injury Prevention and Protection of Athlete Health. He is a member of the Medical Commission of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (COIB).

Rewarded with more than 15 awards, he was made Honorary Citizen of the City of Liège in 2017. Jean-François Kaux is a member of numerous scientific societies and collaborates with the editorial board of various scientific journals. He is the author and co-author of more than 150 scientific articles in French and English.
