Biography
On completing a scientific Baccalaureate in physiotherapy and reeducation at the University of Liège in 1997, Olivier Bruyère obtained a PhD in Public Health Sciences. He is currently professor of clinical epidemiology in the Division of Public Health, Epidemiology and Health Economics. He also teaches geriatric reeducation in the Department of Motricity Sciences at the University of Liège. He heads the Research Unit in Public Health, Epidemiology and Health Economics at the University.
Professor Bruyère is the Chief Executive Officer of the European Society on Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO), the General Secretary of the Belgian Bone Club, President of the Belgian Ageing Muscle Society and member of the Scientific Committee of the International Osteoporosis Foundation. He is author of more than 300 scientific publications.
