Biography
My research focuses on human-wildlife interactions, with an emphasis on forest health, biodiversity monitoring, and ecosystem services, across four continents (Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America). I study a variety of socio-ecosystems, ranging from protected areas to managed forests, and I collaborate closely with stakeholders from academia, public institutions, NGOs, and the private sector. I develop interdisciplinary approaches by combining animal population monitoring tools (camera traps, acoustic sensors, environmental DNA, drones, remote sensing) with social science methods (interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, participatory mapping). My goal is to produce operational science to support decision-making regarding biodiversity conservation and forest management, with a view to fostering a resilient coexistence between humans and wildlife.
