Biography

Bertrand Dupé carried out his PhD thesis on  multiferroic materials from 2007 to 2010 at the Structures Propriétés et Modélisations des Solides (SPMS) laboratory in Ecole Centrale de Paris. Then he continued his research at the University of Kiel (Germany) and in the research center of Jülich (Germany) where he worked on the links between topology and non-collinear magnetism. In 2016, he became interim professor at the University of Mainz (Germany) and, in 2017, became group leader. Since 2019, he is Research Associate at FNRS and works in the Nanomat group.

His research questions the links between topology and condensed matter physics. In particular, he explores complex magnetic states such as spin-spirals or skyrmions and their interactions with functional materials such as metals, multiferroics and superconductors.
