Biography

My research focus on identifying drivers of variations linked to locomotor performances in invasive populations of amphibians. Locomotion is the mechanism through which the animal will disperse, and hence, may allow introduced populations to cross the limits of their introduction site. These invasive traits are regulated by a set of properties intrinsic of the animal but also by its environment. Their role, trade-off and limits are crucial issues if we want to understand how a so-called invasive specie is characterized, such as Marsh frogs from the Pelophylax genus. Traits linked to their invasive potential are evaluated, as part of my PhD thesis, through behavioural, morpho-anatomical and physiological methods whilst considering life history traits of individuals. The behaviour of these animals is quantified through different temperatures to suggest how these invaders will react to climatic changes.

Studied species: Marsh frogs from the ridibundus complex (Pelophylax)
