Biography
Mathias Sabbe holds a PhD in political and social sciences from UCLouvain. His research, conducted between 2016 and 2020, explores the nature and conditions of interactions between frontline officers and offenders in Belgian probation systems from the perspective of street-level bureaucracy.
After a postdoctoral research addressing the integration of new technologies (AI, blockchain, and big data) in Belgian federal policies (DIGI4FED project), his research at ULiège now focusses on the socio-technical expectations and representations surrounding emerging nuclear technologies (ESFR-SIMPLE project).
Mr. Sabbe is also a visiting lecturer at UCLouvain where he teaches a course on research methods in social sciences at the Mons site.
