Biography
Passionate about hydrology and soil physics, I work in the laboratory, in the field and with digital models. I measure and model the hydrological functioning of territories and study in particular the impact of management methods for agricultural land, forests and urban green spaces on the water cycle.
My projects deal with different spatial and temporal scales in the fields of hyrology and soil conservation. I use nature-based solutions and regenerative hydrology techniques.
Training and expertise
After graduating from the Faculty of Gembloux (1999) with a degree in agronomy and rural engineering, I went on to complete a PhD in environmental studies (2005) and a DES in educational technology (ULG, 2001). Since then, I have also taken various additional training courses in pedagogy, human resources management and project management. In 2014, I completed a research stay in Wageningen to work in their soil physics laboratory.
Professional career
I began my career as an assistant at the University of Mons (B) and then at the Faculty of Gembloux. I started lecturing in 2007, was appointed lecturer in 2012, professor in 2019 and full professor in 2021. In 2014, I became director of studies for the bioengineering master's degree in Environmental Science and Technology. I was elected Associate Dean for Teaching in 2015 for a period of 2 years, then again in 2017 and in 2021 for periods of 4 years.
