Because of the legislation, the response will differ depending on whether the complainant (or witness) is a student or a member of staff.
Sexual harassment and violence are criminal offences. Penalties can include up to 2 years' imprisonment or a fine of several thousand euros.
The University applies ministerial circular 8526. With a range of services and advice, the University has set up a reception and support service for victims with personalized information on how to respond, and various awareness-raising and training methods. The Gender and Equality Council works to improve responses to different situations and existing procedures.
