Missions

The Legal Affairs Department accompanies the members of the university community by ensuring in particular:

• the negotiation and drafting of contracts
• legal counsel
• the establishment of regulations and statutes
• dispute resolution
• insurance management
• the follow-up of legislation
• relations with external legal professions (lawyers, notaries,...)

These services are provided more particularly in the following fields:

• Research agreements and services for third parties
• Intellectual property (patents, copyrights)
• Internet and privacy
• Taxation of property and persons
• Social law issues (social status of persons)
• Procurement, Purchasing and Expenditure Commitment
• Insurance of property and persons (subscriptions and claims management)
• Real estate (occupations, rentals, leases and sales)
• Student internships and researcher stays (internship contract for student hosted at ULiège)
