amedi Heng trained as a computer engineer in Cambodia in 2006. Thanks to a grant from the French government, he spent a year in France to study for a Master's degree in Networks and Telecommunications at the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse. He began a teaching career at the Cambodian Institute of Technology, while also working as a consultant for various software and telecoms companies. In 2009, he completed a research internship at CEMIS (Center in Management Information Systems) at UCLouvain on an ARES scholarship. A year later, he was hired as an assistant at UCLouvain.

Needs analysis and agile methods

" I started a thesis on the impact of unified user story modeling on agile methods. There are several types of software development methodology. Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM, are increasingly used in companies, even outside the IT sector. My thesis focused on the analysis of user needs within the framework of these methods, and on the realization of a unified model for user story templates (graphical representation of all user stories, improvement of iterative planning in agile methods and software process for the development of agent systems driven by user stories). Currently, my research focuses on the adoption of agile methods and the contribution of artificial intelligence and automatic natural language processing to analyze user needs and automate their modeling. These are the two subjects I'd like to work on in the next few years."

Teaching and cooperation

 " Education is very different in Belgium and Cambodia. The level of study is higher in Europe. Belgian students are also much more independent. The teaching methods are therefore very different. I had time to realize this during my years as an assistant in Belgium and now as an academic at HEC Liège. "

Samedi Heng teaches a programming course for the^2nd baccalaureate in economics and management, a business process management course for the^3rd baccalaureate and "Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)" courses for masters in management engineering, at HEC Liège.
