ean-Michel Redouté graduated in Industrial Engineering from the University of Antwerp (1998) and in Civil Engineering from the University of Brussels (2001). He then worked for 3? years at Alcatel Bell in Antwerp, where he participated in the design of analog microelectronic circuits for telecommunication systems.

In 2005, at the age of almost 30, he was seduced by a research project and left the company's Antwerp headquarters to join the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven as an assistant. In 2009, he defended a thesis on the design of electromagnetic interference-resistant analog integrated circuits.

That same year, he was awarded a fellowship from the Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) to pursue his research at the University of California, Berkeley.

He then moved to Melbourne's Monash University as a senior lecturer. Returning to his homeland in July 2018, he began working at the University of Liège as a lecturer.

Integrated microelectronic systems

Its courses are mainly aimed at Masters students in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. They focus on four themes:

  • Microelectronics
  • Bioelectronics
  • Microsystems
  • Digital electronics (bachelor's course)

Jean-Michel Redouté's current research focuses on miniaturized electronics for biomedical applications, a field in which he has always taken a keen interest. In particular, he is working on the design of compact, wearable systems that can be integrated into clothing, or on systems that recover energy through body movements to power implants that are increasingly miniaturized and autonomous.

"Literary and musical "Coups de cœur

Literature: "A History of the World", by Andrew Marr

Music: "Adélaide" by Jacques Debronckart, a very poetic song that he particularly appreciates and listened to a lot during his 8-year stay in Melbourne.
